The HB-98 Bayonet Lens Hood from Nikon is a petal-shaped lens hood made for use with the NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 lens. The hood is designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. Additionally, since the end of the lens is extended, there is the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impacts, bumps, or scratches.

The petal shape of the lens hood maximizes the amount of hood coverage for the minimum amount of weight and hood area. This dedicated lens hood is designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it is designed for.
